A. Full Member

The following types of entities are able to apply for Full membership : –

(a) Management Companies of Real Estate Investment Trusts fulfilling all three of the following conditions :

the primary business of the entity is the management, trading, acquisition, operation or financing of income producing real estate;
the entity activity carries on business in primarily in Malaysia and Asia; and
the entity is listed on an official stock exchange in Malaysia.

*Membership fee for full members is RM12,000 effective 1/1/2024

B. Associate member

Any entity that is not eligible to apply to be a Full member but with an interest in the Malaysian public real estate sector may apply to become an Associate member and subject to approval of the Executive Committee shall be entitled to such membership rights as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.

The following types of entities are able to apply for Associate membership :-

Asset Managers of Real Estate Companies and real estate trusts that satisfy rule 7(b) (1) of the MRMA Rules; and
Institutional investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, life assurance companies, investment fund managers and other institutions.

C. Academic member

Any academic institution involved with the real estate sector may apply to be an Academic member and subject to approval of the Executive Committee shall be entitled to such membership rights as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.

D. Individual member

The Management Board may from time to time invite any individual to join the Association as an Individual member provided that such individual is of high rank and power, possesses valuable knowledge and skill and will make a positive contribution to an issue or who will act as patron to the Association.
